LION Scholarship 2023 – MSc program in Physics

International Students are welcome to apply for the LION Scholarship 2023 – MSc degree in Physics. The scholarship provides for Masters’s level programs in Science, Physics at Leiden University. All of their scientists have a passion to learn more about the world around us, in an open environment of inquiry where breakthrough ideas develop with applications and value for society. The Leiden Institute of Physics (LION) granted the LION Scholarship 2023 with funding provided by the Den Adel Fund for Experimental Physics and the Lorentz Fund for Theoretical Physics.
Scholarships are offered to around 10% of accepted individuals based on academic achievement. Each scholarship recipient receives 6,000 euros per year for one year, which can be renewed in the second year of the second year. Scholarships do not waive Leiden University’s tuition fees or the requirement to provide “evidence of adequate money” while applying for a student visa or residence permit with the Dutch Immigration Office. LION scholarships are available to non-Dutch nationals and international students.

LION Scholarship – MSc program in Physics Application Eligibility/Requirement

Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited institution on A Masters’s program in the science field
LION scholarships are available to non-Dutch nationals
This scholarship is available for international students
A grade point average of at least 7.5 in the first semester of the Physics programme.
Applicant must have knowledge of “Physics of elementary particles” at the undergraduate level.
English Proficiency is required
The application must be submitted before 1 February 2023.

The motivation letter for acceptance should make clear reference to the fellowship application and support the academic merit.
Submit one reference letter from your current study program supporting your fellowship application.
Send an e-mail to: master-scs@physics.leidenuniv.nl to indicate that you apply for a LION scholarship.
Submit application before 01 Feb 2023.
