NBNA Scholarship Program
The National Black Nurses Association (NBNA) is committed to educational quality and is a strong supporter of continuing education programs for nurses and other allied health professions. Every year, the organization offers scholarships and financial choices to continuing education students. This financing enables nurses, primarily women, to improve and better offer their skills to the healthcare business in urban neighbourhoods.NBNA’s scholarships are presented each year to the Awardees at the Annual Institute & Conference and These scholarships range from $1,000 – $15,000. A two-page essay, official transcripts from a recognized school of nursing, and two letters of recommendation—one from the applicant’s school of nursing and one from the local chapter—or, in the absence of a local chapter, from a nearby nurse—are required of applicants. All must be included in the application. Applicants must also submit a professional headshot that is clear and clean, along with any other materials that support their eligibility and desirability. These materials may include letters, news articles, awards, certificates, and other written documentation of their involvement in student nurse activities and the African American community. An award amount of $1,000 to $6,000 is awarded to qualified recipients.
NBNA Scholarship Program Application Eligibility/Requirement
- Applicant must be a member of NBNA and a member of a local chapter
- Applicant must be currently enrolled in a nursing program pursuing B.S.N., A.D., Diploma or L.P.N./ L.V.N. Masters, and Doctoral, and in good scholastic standing at the time of application.
- Applicants must have at least one full year of school remaining.
NBNA Scholarship Program Application Procedure
- Complete the application by using the accurate and correct information
- Submit Official Transcript(s) from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Submit Two (2) page Written Essay
- Submit Two (2) letters of recommendation; one from the applicant’s school of nursing and one from the local chapter, or a nurse in the area if a local chapter does not exist.
- Submit A clean/clear professional headshot.
- Submit all additional information; participation in student nurse activities, involvement in the African American Community, i.e., letters, news clippings, awards, certificates
- Submit the application before April 31, 2023.
