FSU Important Dates & Deadlines for Spring 2023 Academic Calendar;

• Open enrollment for spring/summer health insurance begins on Sep 6. 2022.
• Registration for currently enrolled and readmitted degree-seeking students is on Oct 10, 2022- Dec 16, 2022.
• Dec. 1, 2022, is the last day for community college and FSU students to submit Spring 2023 transient applications.
• Registration for all new graduate students begins on Dec. 14, 2022–Jan. 12, 2023.
• Spring/summer health insurance begins on Jan. 1, 2023.
• Jan. 3, 2023, is the Last day to submit waivers or billings for early disbursement of financial aid.
• Residence halls open at 5:00 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2023.
• Early disbursement financial aid available via EFT on Jan. 6, 2023.
• Drop/Add; Including the College of Law Begins on Jan. 7–12, 2023.
• The spring 2023 academic semester begins on Jan. 9, 2023, and it is the Last day to file for a change in residency status.
• Late Registration with a fee of $100.00 begins on Jan. 9–12, 2023.
• Jan. 12, 2023, is the Fourth Day of the Semester, the Last day to add a class without the academic dean’s permission, the Last day to cancel enrollment and have fees removed, and the Last day to drop/add classes and have fees adjusted. Drop/Add ends at 11:59 p.m.
• Jan. 13, 2023, is the Fifth Day of the Semester, the Last day to submit waivers or billings, Last day to request VA deferments from a VA representative in Student Veterans Affairs.
• Jan. 15, 2023, is the Last day to request a change to, or cancellation of, the purchase of spring/summer student health insurance coverage. Open enrollment for spring/summer health insurance ends on this day.
• Jan. 16, 2023, is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. No classes. University closed.
• Jan. 17, 2023, is the First day to apply for financial aid deferment and delayed delivery loans.
• The spring 2023 graduation application period begins from Jan. 17–27, 2023.
• Jan. 20, 2023, is the Tuition and Fee Payment Deadline and the Last day to pay or defer tuition and fees for all students, including veterans who are not using a veteran deferment, without a $100.00 late payment fee.
• The last day to apply for Spring 2023 graduation is on Jan. 27, 2023.
• Non-payment-of-tuition scheduled cancellations processed for students without a tuition deferment are on Jan. 30, 2023.
• Feb. 24, 2023, is the End of the 7th Week of the Semester, the Last day to submit a form requesting S/U grading or to change the S/U option back to regular grade, and the Last day to reduce course load without permission from the academic dean. Dean’s permission is required to drop below 12 semester hours, the Last day to drop a class without receiving a grade, and the Last day to withdraw from school without receiving a grade.
• Financial aid deferments expire, and the Final payment for installment contracts is due on Feb. 24, 2023, it is also the last day for doctoral students to take and pass their preliminary examination to add or convert dissertation hours for the current semester.
• Open enrollment for summer-only health insurance begins on Feb. 24, 2023, and closes on May 15, 2023.
• Open enrollment for Fall 2023-only and 2023–2024 annual health insurance coverage begins on Feb. 24, 2023, and closes on September 15, 2023.
• Fall and Summer 2023 Registration Guides are available, and Fall and Summer 2023 course listings available on the Course Lookup system on Feb. 27, 2023.
• Financial aid deferments expire and the Final payment for installment contracts is due on Mar. 3, 2023.
• Registration for Summer and Fall 2023 begins on Mar. 6, 2023.
• Mar. 13, 2023–Mar. 17, 2023 is Spring Break. No classes. University open.
• Mar. 20, 2023, is the last day to submit a doctoral dissertation or treatise for pre-defense format review.
• The deadline for FAMU-FSU College of Engineering late drop with the dean’s permission and the End of the 11th Week of the Semester is Mar. 31, 2023.
• April 3, 2023, is the Last day to submit the master’s thesis for pre-defense format review.
• April 7, 2023, is the Deadline for a late drop with the dean’s permission for all colleges except Engineering.
• April 17, 2023, is the Last day for submission of post-defense, final-content-approved thesis, dissertation, or treatise and required forms.
• April 28, 2023, is the Last Day of Classes, the Last day to petition the academic dean for a reduction in course load, the Last day to officially withdraw from the University, the Last day to apply for an AA Degree at the Office of Undergraduate Studies, UCA 3400 and Veterans’ deferments expire; Full tuition payment is required to avoid late payment fee.
• May 1–5, 2023 is final Exam Week.
• May 5, 2023, is the Last day to submit extensions for ‘incomplete’ grades, the Last day to submit ServScript hours online, Last day for thesis, dissertation, and treatise students to receive official final clearance in the manuscript clearance portal. The semester Ends on this day.
• May 6, 2023, is the commencement date for FSU Spring 2023 academic year.
• May 7, 2023, is Panama City Commencement.
• Online grades are due by 4:00 p.m on May 9, 2023.
• Grades available online on May 10, 2023.
• Open enrollment for summer-only health insurance ends on May 15, 2023.
• May 29, 2023, Memorial Day Observed. No Classes. University Closed.
• June 9, 2023, is the last day to request a change to, or cancellation of, summer-only health insurance.
