The uOttawa Academic Calendar 2023-2024: important dates and deadlines apply to the entire student population, whether you are studying at the undergraduate, graduate, or postdoctoral level, and must go in accordance with the provided dates and deadlines. The scheduled academic calendar contains the dates authorized by the Academic Board for academic activities

uOttawa Academic Calendar Important Dates & Deadlines for Winter 2023/2024;

• uottawa Winter 2023 term begins on Jan 1, 2023 – April 30, 2023.
• The last day to enroll to change course selection and change student status whether regular or auditor and the last day to enroll is on Jan. 20, 2023.
• Last day to receive a full refund on your U-Pass. After February 3, 2023, reimbursements are pro-rated.
• The last day to pay tuition fees without late fees is on February 3, 2023.
• The last day to withdraw from a course or an activity and receive a financial credit if applicable with fewer administrative fees is on February 3, 2023.
• The last day to submit a thesis and receive a 100% financial credit; applies only if you are enrolled exclusively in the thesis and were also enrolled in the thesis in the previous term is February 3, 2023
• The exam schedule posted in uoZone is on February 14, 2023.
• March 3, 2023, is the Last day to submit a thesis and receive a 50% financial credit which applies only if you are enrolled exclusively in the thesis and were also enrolled in the thesis in the previous session.
• The period to make changes to your program for the Summer 2023 term is from March 1 to 31,2023.
• The last day to register for a degree for Spring 2023 Convocation, the Last day to withdraw from a course or an activity with no financial credit, and the Last day for eligible French immersion students to identify their courses to be evaluated with “Satisfactory/Not satisfactory” grades March 31, 2023.
• Classes on Friday, April 7, 2023, Good Friday which is a statutory holiday, are canceled.
• Classes on Saturday, April 8, 2023, and Easter break which is a statutory holiday, are canceled until April 12, 2023.
• The Winter term exam period begins on April 14 to 27,2023.
• Official final grades for the Winter term will be posted on May 26, 2023.
• The last day of the Winter term to submit the major research paper or engineering report without having to enroll in the Spring–Summer term and the Last day of the Winter term to submit a thesis without having to enroll in the Spring–Summer term is April 30, 2023.
• Official final grades for the Winter term were posted on May 15, 2023
• Official academic standings will be posted on May 26, 2023.
• The deferred and supplemental exam period for 1000-level anatomy (ANP) courses starts from May 31-June 9, 2023.
• The deferred exam period for faculties of Arts, Civil Law, Engineering, Science, and Social Sciences and at the Telfer School of Management is on July 9 to 15,2023.
• The deadline to pass the mandatory training on academic integrity for newly admitted students is October 13, 2023.

• The last day for receipt of applications for admission to an undergraduate degree program for the summer term is March 1, 2023.
• The deadline for course outlines to be made available to students registered in early summer and full summer courses is April 27, 2023
• The last day for receipt of applications for undergraduate degree program transfers for the summer term is May 1, 2023
• Early summer and full summer classes begin on May 4, 2023
• May 10, 2023, is the Last day for registration and course changes including auditing in the early summer courses.
• Graduate students who have not electronically submitted their final thesis copy to the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs will not be eligible to graduate in spring 2022 and must register for the summer 2022 term on May 12, 2023
• May 17, 2023, is the Last day for registration and course changes including auditing in full summer courses, and the Last day to withdraw from early summer courses with a full fee adjustment.
• Full winter, late winter, and fall/winter deferred final examinations will be held on May 19-31, 2023.
• May 22, 2023, is a Statutory holiday. University closed.
• The last day to request Formal Examination Accommodation Forms for June examinations to the Paul Menton Centre for Students with Disabilities is May 26, 2023.
• May 31, 2023, is the Last day to withdraw from full summer courses with a full fee adjustment.
• The last day for academic withdrawal from early summer courses is June 1, 2023.
• June 9, 2023, is the Last day for summative tests or examinations, or formative tests or examinations totaling more than 15% of the final grade in undergraduate courses before the official examination period.
• The last day of early summer classes, the Last day for take-home examinations to be assigned, and the Last day for handing in term work, subject to any earlier course is June 16, 2023
• No classes or examinations take place on June 17-18, 2023.
• Final examinations in early summer courses and mid-term.
• Examinations in full summer courses will be held on June 19-25, 2023.
• All final take-home examinations are due on June 25, 2023.
• June 27, 2023, is the Deadline for course outlines to be made available to students registered in late summer courses.
• The statutory holiday will be observed on July 3, 2023. University closed.
• Late summer classes begin and full summer classes resume on July 4, 2023
• The last day for registration and course changes including auditing in late summer courses is July 10, 2023
• The last day to withdraw from late summer courses with a full fee adjustment is July 17, 2023
• Early summer term deferred final examinations will be held on July 21-23, 2023.
• July 24, 2023, is the Last day for graduate students to submit their supervisor-approved thesis, in the examinable form to the department.
• July 28, 2023, is the last day to request Formal Examination Accommodation Forms for the August final examinations to the Paul Menton Centre for Students with Disabilities.
• August 1, 2023, is the Last day for academic withdrawal from full and late summer courses.
• August 7, 2023, is a Statutory holiday. University closed.
• August 9, 2023, is the Last day for summative tests or examinations, or formative tests or examinations totaling more than 15% of the final grade in undergraduate courses, before the official examination period.
• August 16, 2023, is the last day of late summer and full summer classes, the Last day for final take-home examinations to be assigned, and the Last day for handing in term work, subject to any earlier course deadline.
• No classes or examinations take place on August 17-18,2023.
• Final examinations in late summer and full summer courses will be held on August 19-25,2023.
• All final take-home examinations are due on August 25, 2023.
