The University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF) is a prominent scholarship programme that honours and assists exceptional graduate students enrolled in master’s or doctorate programmes at the University of Manitoba that focus on original research.
UMGF aims to assist deserving Masters and PhD students at the institution. In the University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship programme, the university’s Faculty of Graduate Studies awards over CAD 2 million each year. All students at the University of Manitoba are eligible for the fellowship.

Application Fees
For every application you send to the Faculty of Graduate Studies, you must pay $100.
The value of the UMGF Fellowships for a year is $14,000 for Master’s students and $18,000 for PhD students.

Eligibility Criteria
The following qualifying criteria must be met by applicants in order for their applications to be considered for the University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship:
1. A 3.0 minimum GPA is required for admittance, although some departments may have higher standards.
2. Obtained acceptance into a full-time master’s or doctoral programme at the University of Manitoba. not possess an active hold pertaining to admission on their student account while they are under provisional admission.
3. Must have a minimum degree grade point average of 4.0 based on coursework finished during the regular academic periods in order to successfully complete their first, second, and third years of study.
4. Requires enrolling in a minimum of 24 credit hours of full-time study in the subsequent year.
