NorthWestern Academic Calendar 2023-2024: Important Dates & Deadlines consists of Semester Beginning, Ending, and Degree Dates, Add/Drop Deadlines, Holidays, Breaks, Classes schedules, etc. Northwestern runs a quarterly academic schedule ,that is made up of three quarters lasting more or less 10 weeks each for Fall, Winter, and Spring including a summer term. The Fall semester is ten weeks and two days which excludes exams. Winter and Spring semesters are nine weeks and three /four days which includes excluding examinations.

Winter 2023 classes begin on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
Monday, January 9, 2023, is the Last day for tuition adjustment related to enrollment changes to or from full-time and the Last day to add/change classes for Winter 2023.
Monday, January 16, 2023, is Martin Luther King Jr. Day-No classes.
Application for a degree due to The Graduate School to receive a degree in Winter on Friday, January 27, 2023.
Application for a degree due to The Graduate School to receive a degree in Spring on Friday, February 3, 2023.
Friday, February 10, 2023, is the Last day to drop a class for Winter via CAESAR.
Pre-registration for the Spring quarter begins on Monday, February 13, 2023.
Registration for Spring Quarter begins on Monday, February 20, 2023.
Dissertation, PhD Final Exam, and change of grade forms due to TGS for Winter PhD candidates on Friday, February 24, 2023.
