Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania

The Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania is a non-profit agency that sponsors a scholarship program for residents of Pennsylvania who are pursuing a basic in LPN, Diploma, ADN, BSN, BSN Completion, advanced (Masters, Doctoral), or PhD education in nursing in a program that has been approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. The applicant must be a resident of Pennsylvania and be enrolled in or have been accepted into a nursing school in Pennsylvania that leads to licensure as a licensed practical nurse, a registered nurse, or a graduate-level nursing practice.
They must have a B average or above and have completed at least one nursing course. This scholarship’s previous winners are not eligible. Academic excellence, leadership potential, extracurricular involvement, and a commitment to nursing as a career all factor into selection. The Pennsylvania Nightingale Awards recognize outstanding nurses who work in the state each year. Scholarships are available to cover tuition, books, and/or educational fees. The total amount of the scholarship varies from year to year and is dependent upon the support received. PhD Scholarship recipients are awarded a minimum of $1,000.

  • Applicant must be pursuing a Diploma, Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN), Associate Degree (AD), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing Completion, Advanced Degree – Master, Advanced Degree – Doctoral
  • Personal Statement of Commitment
  • two letters of recommendation
  • transcript of grades
  • letter of acceptance
  • Applicant must be a resident of Pennsylvania.
  • Applicant must be enrolled in a Pennsylvania State Board-Approved Nursing Education Program.
  • Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania Application Procedure
  • Complete the online Application form via https://nightingaleawards.submittable.com/login, using Your name, credentials, permanent address, email address and phone number
  • Submit a transcript of grades;  that includes the most recently completed semester with the required course in nursing
  • Submit Personal Statement of Commitment
  • Submit a copy of your letter of acceptance
  • Applications will be accepted in January 2023.
