The scholarship enables enrollment in Masters-level courses at Hertie School Germany in the areas of public policy, international affairs, and data science for public policy. In Berlin’s Friedrichstraße, there is a private, independent graduate program in governance called The Hertie School. It is a school of public policy with accreditation to award master’s and doctoral degrees.
A fresh perspective The advantages of international scholarships are as follows:
- The Master of Public Policy, Master of International Affairs, or Master of Data Science for Public Policy are all eligible for this scholarship.
- Open to all applicants regardless of nationality
- One whole scholarship of €36,500

Eligibility Criteria
- All applicants motivated to pair their STEM background with training in public policy or international affairs in order to effect positive change in any sector.
Application Procedure
- Make a regular application to the MPP, MIA, or MDS programs first.
- In addition, elaborate on the following in a brief motivational letter (maximum 900 words), a photo essay (maximum 5 pages), or a quick film (maximum 2 minutes):
- Explain how a degree in public policy or international affairs, along with your prior education and professional experience, would help you solve a particular social or political problem that you would like to address.
- Additionally, offer a solution and/or discuss why earlier suggestions fell short of resolving the social or political issue you have highlighted.
- After submitting a regular application, the additional motivational materials should be emailed to grad-admissions[at]hertie-school[dot]org.
- Prior to February 1st, interested candidates should submit their applications and motivational remarks. Candidates who have been shortlisted will be contacted for an interview.
