Indian Health Service Scholarships 2023-2024

The Indian Health Service Scholarship Program 2023-2024 enables eligible American Indian and Alaska Native health professions students to build an educational foundation for each step of their pre-professional careers. This initiative provides assistance, education, and placement of healthcare professionals in medically underserved Indian health programs across the mainland United States and Alaska. The Indian Health Service (IHS) Health Professions Scholarship is available to qualifying American Indian and Alaska Native undergraduate and graduate students. The Indian Health Service (IHS) provides three scholarships for American Indian and Alaska Native students to educate and train health professionals to work in Indian health initiatives; Namely;

• Preparatory Scholarship
• Pre-Graduate Scholarship
• Health Professions Scholarship

Indian Health Service Scholarships Application Requirement 2023-2024

• Applicant must be a United States citizen or a US national
• Applicant must be a member of a federally recognized Tribe
• Applicant must be enrolled in an eligible health profession degree program.
• Applicant must be in a state of financial aid
• Applicant must be a high school graduate or the equivalent and have a minimum GPA of 2.0
• Applicant must be capable of completing a health profession degree program and Intend to serve Indian people as a health professional.

Indian Health Service Scholarships Application Procedure

• Complete and submit the application form via the website; https://www.ihs.gov/scholarship/scholarships/
• All documents must be uploaded to the application system
  • Submit official transcripts and Faculty Evaluationsall required documents.
  • The application must be submitted before the deadline; February 28, 2023
  • All required documentation must be attached

NOTE; Please do not mail supporting documents to the IHS Scholarship Program.
