For students of Black descent, our new Presidential Scholarships offer a mix of financial and mentorship support. They are for Black home students who are applying to the faculties of engineering, medicine, and natural sciences for fall 2023 undergraduate studies. The Scholarship Coverage
- The total price of your course’s tuition for the entire duration (for up to four years, excluding repeat years)
- Mentoring assistance
- In addition to any other financial help you may be qualified for, the scholarships are paid. This comprises:
- The Imperial Bursary, which provides financial assistance up to £5,000 per year without requiring repayment to the UK government for a maintenance loan for living expenses
- Subject scholarships
Eligibility
One Presidential Scholarship is available in the Faculties of Engineering, Medicine and Natural Sciences for Black firm-choice offer holders who qualify for the College’s contextual admissions programs by paying their home fees.
By taking into account each applicant’s performance in context and taking into account elements like your economic, social, and educational background, these programs aim to improve the fairness of our admissions process.Your ethnic origin must match one of the following (or its equivalent in the relevant application systems) to be eligible for a Presidential Scholarship for students of African descent:
- Black – African
- Black – Caribbean
- Black – Other
- Mixed – White and Black African
- Mixed White and Black Caribbean
- Other Mixed background – including Black African, Black Caribbean or Other Black background
Application Process
- Apply by 18 o’clock (UK local time) on October 15, 2022, if you’re interested in our MBBS Medicine program, or by 18:00 (UK local time) on January 25, 2023, if you’re interested in any of our other undergraduate programs.

- Receive a scholarship offer before the scholarship deadline of 23:59 (UK local time) on May 26, 2023, for enrollment in 2023.
- Accept the offer firmly before the applicable deadline.
- To be eligible for this prize, you must select Imperial College London as your top school on the UCAS application.
- The application deadline for our Presidential Scholarships is May 26, 2023, at 23:59 (UK local time).
