CSUN Canvas: Helpful Guide to Access CSUN LMS and Zoom 2023
CSUN Canvas LMS is an open and reliable web-based learning management system that allows California State University, Northridge (CSUN) to manage digital learning, instructors to create and deliver online learning materials, and assess student learning as well as allow students to engage in courses and acquire feedback in relation to their skill development and learning achievement. The CSUU Canvas includes all the qualities of a modern learning management system including the ability to accept and grade assignments, conduct discussions in forums, administer quizzes and exams, store and organize course resources, communicate with students as well as personalized qualities for respective students. With the CSUN Canvas LMS, students can access course materials, view course calendars, to-do lists, and set their own preferences to receive notifications on their mobile devices.
The CSUN Canvas can be accessed with the Canvas student app and the Canvas Teacher app for instructors. To access the CSUN Canvas LMS account, you must have your CSUN user ID and password. At UNT, all students as well as staffs have a CSUN user ID and a password. The CSUN user ID allows students to access most CSUN services including the CSUN Canvas.
How to Login into CSUN Canvas
- Visit the CSUN Canvas website: http://canvas.csun.edu. on your browser.
- The login page will pop up. Enter your username which is your CSUN user ID.
- Enter password. In case you have forgotten your password, click on forgotten password and follow the steps carefully to reset it.
- Click on “LOGIN” to log in. The dashboard is your landing page.
If you are on a public computer don’t forget to log out when you are done. The CSUN Canvas can also be accessed through the Canvas students App and the Canvas Teacher App. These apps are available in Google Play Store for Android devices and in App Store for IOS users.
With the apps, you can access CSUN Canvas. With the Canvas students app and the Canvas Teacher App, you can log in with your school URL or QR code. Every institution uses a specific URL to access Canvas.
Logging in with URL
- Open the Canvas student app and enter the CSUN Canvas URL. In case you don’t know the CSUN Canvas LMS URL code, you can search for California State University, Northridge with the search bar.
- Click on the login button and enter your CSUN user ID and password.
- Click on “LOGIN”.
Logging in with QR Code
To log in with the QR code, click on the account link and then the QR code. For the QR code, a CSUN staff must enable the QR code feature before you can use it. QR code can be scanned from the login page of the CSUN online portal. To view the QR code:
- Login to your CSUN Canvas LMS account.
- Click on “QR code for Mobile” in the account
- Click on the proceed button and your code will display.
The QR code is the same as your password and should be kept confidential. If you are on a public computer don’t forget to log out when you are done.
How to Access Zoom
Zoom (CSUN’s new video and web conferencing tool) is available to all students, faculty, and staff. Zoom allows for video, audio, and screen sharing between up to 200 participants. It can be accessed from any computer, laptop, tablet, or phone and it works on Mac, PC, Android, and iOS devices. Zoom can function with rooms equipped for video conferencing. Anybody in the world can join a Zoom meeting, but only a host can start/schedule meetings. Use your CSUN ID and password to sign in to your host account.
