The Learning Management System of Western Sydney University (UWS) is virtual UWS (vUWS). At Western Sydney University, vUWS serves as the eLearning environment for staff and students, and 100% of units have a vUWS presence. Students’ programs and most of their subjects have a vUWS site, which includes a learning guide, information about students’ assessment tasks, study resources and announcements related to the student program. This vUWS sites for programs are set up by the lectures for the various courses for their students with various course materials and activities. Western Sydney University’s Learning Management System is powered by Blackboard. The Blended Learning Platforms team is also available to provide technical assistance with vUWS.
Below is a helpful guide to help you access the UWS Learning Management System (vUWS). The vUWS can be accessed on a desktop or laptop through your web browser or can be accessed on your mobile device through the Blackboard App. To access the vUWS, you must first log into your vUWS account with your Western Account Student ID number and Western Account Password. How do I Log into vUWS
Student can also access their vUWS from their MyWestern account directly without having to log in again. To access through MyWestern account, you must first log into your MyWestern Account. You create your My Western Account the first time you enrol – it’s just your student ID number and the password you chose.
How to Log into MyWestern Account to Access vUMS
You won’t need to log in to vUWS if you access it from MyWestern.
How to Log into vUWS via Blackboard App
To log in with the app, verify if Western Sydney University has enabled mobile device access. If yes download the Blackboard app from Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS). Your device needs one of these operating systems to run the Blackboard Learn app, either iOS 11+ or Android 6+. Install the Blackboard app on your mobile device and follow the steps below to login:
