Accessing programs that you do not personally own or are unable to install on your own device is made easy with the help of UF Apps. Through UF Apps, several pricey computer programs are available for free to UF students. The list of applications includes Grammarly and Photoshop (along with other Adobe programs). You will have access to a fully complete set of programs with a native-like feel by using these through the Citrix Receiver. University of Florida students can access software programs through UFApps from any device, including laptops, tablets, desktop computers, and cellphones, from any location and at any time. The initiative started as a one-year trial project supported by student technology fees and sponsored by UFIT. The tremendous positive response has led to UFApps being a fully operational UFIT service for teachers and students. Please read the information about the UF Apps below.
Get the Citrix Receiver from the app store on your smartphone.
Depending on the type of device you are using, open the Citrix Receiver and select “Set up my enterprise apps” or “Add Account.”
Enter “apps.ufl.edu” in the “Address” column.
For the fields requesting a username and password, use your Gatorlink credentials.
If prompted, type “UFAD” for the domain.
Accessing UF Apps From A PC
Go to citrix.com/products/receiver in your browser.
Once there, select “Download Receiver for Windows” from the menu.
Launch the installation for Citrix Receiver.
Click OK if a popup with the text “Confirm installation is complete” displays.
A ribbon or window stating “This webpage wants to launch the following add-on: Citrix Receiver” may appear in some browsers.
If asked, choose “Do not show me this warning again” and click “Allow”.
Visit apps.ufl.edu once the Citrix Receiver has been installed.
To prevent needing to authorize each time a UF Apps application launches, you might want to add https://apps.ufl.edu/ to your trusted sites list for some web browsers.
For directions, look at your browser’s help section.
