Logging Into UCSB GOLD
- Visit my.sa.ucsb.edu/gold.
- Enter your UCSBnetID.
- Enter your password here.

About Your UCSBnetID
- Your UCSBnetID is a permanent identify that you will use for the entirety of your time at UCSB.
- To perform university business, every new student must have a UCSBnetID and a UCSB U-Mail account. You may access the majority of online services, including UCSB GOLD and GauchoSpace, with your UCSBnetID.
- All formal correspondence is transmitted via U-Mail, the student email service provided by UCSB.
- Students are required to constantly monitor this account since all University correspondence will be sent to it once it is authorized.
- You can select to forward U-Mail messages to another account.
- Your U-Mail password is the same as your UCSBNetID password, and your U-Mail address is your UCSBnetID followed by @ucsb.edu.
- Your UCSBnetID and U-Mail account can be activated a few days after you submit your SIR. Log in to UCSB Identity Manager to accomplish this.

Activating Your UCSBnetID
- Please visit im.ucsb.edu/idm/manage.
- “A New or Current Student with a Perm Number” should be selected.
- Under “Last Name,” enter your family or surname.
- Your permanent number must have seven digits and not contain a hyphen or dash.
- Please enter your birthdate using the following format: MM/DD/YYYY.
- Use 0000 if you don’t have a Social Security number.
- Students who are enrolled through UCSB Extension or the Open University use the “A Student” radio option. Under “Last Name,” they type their family or surname.
- The format for their birthdate should be MM/DD/YYYY. moreover, an Extension Student ID that is not a permanent number.
- Observe the directions given on the activation system.
- You will have access to a number of online services on campus after your UCSBNetID and U-Mail have been authorized.
- Please be aware that it might take up to 24 hours for your UCSBNetID credentials to function properly with all services.
