Texas A&M University International Agricultural Education Fellowship Program (IAEFP)

Texas A&M University International Agricultural Education Fellowship, The Norman Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture and Development serves as the host institution for the International Agricultural Education Fellowship Program (IAEFP), which was established in collaboration with AgriCorps. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Foreign Agriculture Service provides funding for IAEFP (FAS). During the Ghana and Guatemala school years, IAEFP prepares and supports Fellows to become teachers overseas. These Fellows are involved in agriculture as well as working with kids in their communities.IAEFP and our in-country partner, Humanitas Global, have chosen these villages as excellent placement options. Fellows are intensively taught before and during their participation through AgriCorps’ established training programs. The scholarship program seeks to Develop globally-minded United States agriculturists with experience living abroad, Help meet the food and fibre needs of the domestic population of eligible countries and Strengthen and enhance trade linkages between eligible countries and the United States agricultural industry.

Texas A&M University International Agricultural Education Fellowship (IAEFP) Application Requirement
  • Applicant must have a US Citizenship
  • Applicant must have the ability to speak fluent Spanish
  • Applicant must have A completed bachelor’s degree from an accredited university on or before January 2023
  • Ability to pass a physical exam by a licensed physician
  • Ability to hold a passport and travel internationally
  • Have experience with 4-H, FFA, or develop a plan to acquire the experience
  • A degree in agriculture or extensive coursework in agriculture

    “How you will enhance the IAEFP’s mission”
    “How this Fellowship will benefit your success, post-experience”
  • Resume or CV (Submit in the form)
  • Submit Two letters of reference including reference contact information (Submit in the form)
