SFU Canvas: How to Access SFU Learning Management System 2023

SFU Canvas is the Learning Management System (LMS) for Simon Fraser University (SFU). Canvas is a web-based learning management system used by institutions, instructors and students to manage online course learning materials and communicate about skills improvement and learning accomplishment. Canvas includes a variety of customizable course creation and management tools, course and user analytics and statistics, and internal communication tools. Canvas is primarily a web-based software, any user can access Canvas on a mobile device from the Canvas Teacher, Canvas Student, and Canvas Parent apps.

With SFU Canvas, instructors utilise it to organize and present class materials, assign and view homework, assess submissions, provide grades and communicate with their students. Students utilise it to manage their course requirements, find course materials, submit homework, assess their course progress, and communicate with instructors and classmates about course assignments and requirements. Faculty can utilise it to supplement in-person lectures or to manage blended or fully online courses.

SFU Canvas: How to Access SFU Learning Management System 2023

The SFU Canvas is available and accessible to instructors, students and the Faculty of Simon Fraser University (SFU). All procedures and details on how to access SFU Learning Management System are available to enable here to assist and aid you to access the SFU Canvas. To access your SFU Canvas, you will be required to log in with your SFU Computing ID and password. You can log into your SFU Canvas on your desktop or laptop with the appropriate web browser as well as on your mobile device.

How to Login to SFU Canvas

1. Open your web browser and navigate to the SFU Canvas Login page at http://canvas.sfu.ca.
2. On the Login Page, enter your SFU Computing ID.
3. Enter your SFU Computing account password. Click on the “Forgot your password?” link to reset your password if you don’t remember your password.
4. Click on “Sign In” to access your SFU Canvas dashboard.

How to Login to SFU Canvas with the Mobile App

The CSUN Canvas can also be accessed through the Canvas students App and the Canvas Teacher App. Instructors and TAs can download the Canvas Teacher App for iPhone, iPad or Andriod devices while students can download the Canvas IOS Student App for iPhone and iPad or Android Canvas App for Android from Google Play Store or App Store. Download and install the canvas app and follow the steps before accessing your SFU Canvas through the app;

1. Open the Canvas Student app on your mobile device by tapping on the Canvas Student app icon.
2. Enter the SFU Canvas URL in the text box. This is your SFU Canvas URL; canvas.sfu.ca.
3. Click on the “Go” button after entering the URL. You will be redirected to the SFU Authentication page
4. On the Login Page, enter your SFU Computing ID.
5. Enter your SFU Computing account password.
6. Click on the “Login” button.
7. Instructure (the company that developed Canvas) will confirm that you are logging in to this app with your SFU Computing ID.
8. Check the box that says “Remember my authorization for this service” then click on the “Log In” button.
