All campus needs for admission, enrollment, and registration are met via the SDSU WebPortal. Students look up their admissions status, register for classes, and seek transcripts. Activating Your Account In Setting Up Your SDSU Webportal
Enter the nine-digit SDSU RedID number that was emailed to you two weeks after you submitted your application.
Enter your birthdate using the MMDDYY format.
Hit “Activate.”
Fill out the account creation form. Your last name, birthdate, social security number (foreign students may use their RedID), and WebPortal security questions will be required.
Send the form in. A temporary password will be sent to the email address that SDSU has on file for you by the system.
Finalizing Your Account In Setting Up Your SDSU Webportal
To find your temporary password, check your email.
Check your spam folder first if you do not receive this email. If not, the email address we have on file might be incorrect; get in touch with us to have it updated.
As a current account holder, access www.sdsu.edu/portal by entering your RedID and the temporary password received the email.
Make a secure password. Your password must adhere to certain regulations in order to be secure.
Answer all of the test questions. If you lose your password or need to unlock your account, you can use the answers.
You’re done.
Resetting Your Account
You can use this automated tool to ask for a temporary password to be generated for you if you’ve forgotten your password or your account has been locked.
Enter your RedID.
Not sure of your RedID? You will have to respond to a challenge question in order to prove your identity.
A temporary password will be given to the email address on file after the accuracy of your data has been confirmed.
To get your temporary password, you need to have a functional email address saved.
