ScarletMail: Simple Guide to Access Rutgers Email 2023
The official email provider for Rutgers University students is ScarletMail. Using your NetID and password, you may log into this account at mail.scarletmail.rutgers.edu. The G Suite for Education installation at Rutgers is called ScarlerApps. The main Google-hosted applications—Gmail, Docs, Calendar, Talk, Video, and Sites—are all part of the ScarletApps package. Google has expanded the Google Apps for Education program with dozens of additional apps in addition to the core package. The communication and collaboration tools offered by ScarletApps can improve the learning, teaching, and working environments for Rutgers students, teachers, and staff. Logging Into ScarletMail
- Visit mail.scarletmail.rutgers.edu.
- Type your NetID.
- Type your password.
- To access your email, click “Login.
Setting Up ScarletMail On Your iPhone
- Tap the Settings icon on the iOS device.
- You might need to slide to the right to locate the Settings icon if it isn’t on your initial screen.
- Tap Passwords & Accounts on the Settings screen.
- Tap Add Account on the Passwords & Accounts screen.
- Tap Google on the Add Account screen.
- Your browser will link you to Google sign-in.
- Tap Next after entering your ScarletMail address, which should be in the form netid@scarletmail.rutgers.edu.
- The Rutger’s Central Authentication Service will be your next stop (CAS.)
- Your NetID and NetID Password must be entered. Click LOGIN.
- If you are a NetID+ subscriber, choose the relevant option and confirm the login.
- You may choose which services you’d want to sync with your ScarletMail after entering in with your NetID and NetID password, authenticating with Duo if you’re enrolled in NetID+, and tapping Save.
- You may now use the iPhone’s Mail app to access your ScarletMail.
Setting Up ScarletMail On Your Android Phone
- To access the app drawer on an Android device, slide up from the home screen.
- On some smartphones, the home screen may have all the icons instead of an app drawer.
- Tap the Settings icon after navigating through the programs.
- Press the Accounts button on the Settings screen.
- Tap Add account on the Accounts screen.
- Tap Google on the Add an account screen.
- Next should be selected when you provide your ScarletMail email address in the format netid@scarletmail.rutgers.edu.
- You will be informed by Google that Rutgers is in charge of managing your account.
- Click Accept.
- After entering your NetID and password, click LOGIN.
- The screen below will appear if you have signed up for NetID+.
- Approve the login by choosing the relevant option.
- You may now access your ScarletMail by using the Gmail app on your Android smartphone when your account has been properly added.
Activating Your Rutgers NetID
- Go to index.htm at netid.rutgers.edu.
- Select the link for NetID Activation on the left.
- Enter all the information on the next screen, then click Continue.
- If everything went well, a password setting screen will appear.
- After setting your password successfully, you will be sent to the Services Activation.
- The next step should involve setting up your email services.
Finding Your NetID
- Visit netid.rutgers.edu to get there.
- On the left side of the window, select Manage NetID password.
- On the left side of the screen, select NetID Lookup.
- Complete the form and adhere to the page’s given formatting guidelines.
- Tap NetID Lookup.
Resetting Your NetID Password
- Go to netid.rutgers.edu/displayForgottenPasswordForm to access the form.
- Click “Continue” after entering your data in the format shown in the samples.
- You can answer the security questions you’ve set up and, if the answers are valid, enter a new password if you’ve created secret questions and answers.
- You will be prevented from using secret questions for 24 hours if the answers are submitted wrong three times.
