The Learning Management System for the University of Kansas is the KU Blackboard. The KU Blackboard Learning Management System allows you to view course materials, announcements, important dates, and grades and participate in discussions. You can log into KU Blackboard on your desktop or Laptop with a web browser or on your mobile phone with the Brightspace Pulse app. The Brightspace Pulse application is available in Google Play Store for Android and App Store for iOS. The Blackboard has two mobile apps for easy access for students and instructors.

As a student, you need the student’s Blackboard app to enable you to access it. To have access to your KU Blackboard, you must first log into your KUBlackboard account. As a student, you can log in to Blackboard with your KU Online ID or non-KU User Account to access available courses and MySuccess.

How to Log into KU Blackboard via a Web Browser with KU Online ID

Below are the steps to guide you to log into the KU Blackboard or the University of Kansas LMS with a web browser. You are recommended to use safari (MAC or iOS) and Chrome or Firefox (PC).

1. Go to or Visit the KU Blackboard Login page at courseware.ku.edu on your recommended browser.
2. Click on the”KU LOGIN Using Your Online ID” button.
3. Enter your KU Online ID
4. Enter your password. Click on “Password Reset” or “Change Password” to reset or change password in case you don’t recall it.
5. Click “Login” to access the KU Blackboard.

How to Log into KU Blackboard via a Web Browser with a Non-KU User Account

1. Go to or Visit the KU Blackboard Login page at courseware.ku.edu on your recommended browser.
2. Click on the ” Special User” button.
3. Enter your Non-KU username in the box.
4. Enter your password.
5. Click on “Login” to have access.

How to Log into KU BlackBoard via Blackboard App

To log in with the app, verify if the University of Kansas has enabled mobile device access. If yes download the Blackboard app from Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS). Install the Blackboard app on your mobile device and follow the steps below to log in:

1. Open the Blackboard Learn app
2. Search for the University of Kansas
3. Enter your KU Online ID and password.
4. Click on “Log in” to have access.

After you have logged into the University of Kansas, you can access your courses from the KU Blackboard by clicking on the course name or title under the My Courses to go to your course’s home page.
