Documents Required To Apply 

One is supposed to only verify that their institution or nonprofit organisation has the authority to nominate them, and let your academic referee and nominator know that you plan to apply to the International Scholars Programme.

How To Apply 

1. Check out the International Scholars Programme application page.

2. Choose which campus you want to attend as well as the academic programme you wish to enrol in.

3. You must be recommended by your school or nonprofit organisation and submit a reference from an academic referee in order to apply for the International Scholars Programme.

4. Compile the necessary financial data for yourself as well as a record of any extracurricular activities and honours.

5. Submit the application for the International Scholars Programme before the deadline provided.

6. Submit your UBC admissions application before the deadline.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award Scholarship:

• You must be an international student who has been granted a Canadian study permit and who will be attending school in Canada.

• You must transfer from your first year of a post-secondary college or another university, or you must have graduated from an accredited high school to be eligible to enrol at UBC.

• No sooner than June of the two years preceding the academic year for which you are applying, you must have completed high school. Applications for 2023, for instance, must have been completed no earlier than 2022.

• You have to be attempting to obtain your first undergraduate degree.

• You need to show that you’ve made progress in your academics.

• You must show a level of financial need that would otherwise preclude you from obtaining a degree at  UBC

• General and degree-specific requirements for admission to UBC must be satisfied as well as the English Language Admission Standard.
