Logging Into Your Howdy TAMU Portal
  • Visit howdy.tamu.edu to access the howdy tamu login page.
  • “Log in with your NetID and start here” should be clicked.

Activating Your NetID

  • Choose Claim Your NetID rather than “Log In.”
  • Put in both your DOB and your Universal Identification Number (UIN).
  • Click LOGIN. Your NetID has already been enabled if you get the error message “The account is already active.”
  • Contact Help Desk Central at (979) 845-8300 using your UIN to get your login information if you can’t recall or don’t know your NetID.
  • Enter your desired NetID and password after carefully reading the information about the username and password requirements on the next screen.
  • When done, click Submit.
  • Your NetID’s length is limited to 20 characters.
Setting Up Self Service Password Reset
  • Go to the Aggie Account Gateway at tamu.edu/gateway.
  • Use your TAMU NetID and password to log in.
  • Set up Self-Service Password Reset may be found under “I wish to…” on the right side of the website.
  • You will see input boxes when you toggle the button on the right side.
  • You must include a phone number and an email address that is not connected to TAMU.
  • A confirmation number will now be sent to your mobile phone through text message.
  • Enter the confirmation code in the “Confirmation Code” section to verify your SMS phone number.
  • Click Submit.
  • Click the link in the email that has been sent to your backup email account to confirm your email address.
  • The successful updating of your password-reset settings should now be indicated by a notification.
