Healthcare Leaders Scholarship 2023-2024

The Healthcare Leaders Scholarship is available to students who are entering or are currently enrolled in nursing or medical degree. The goal of this scholarship is to find, nurture, and promote North Dakota’s future generation of healthcare leaders. Healthcare Leaders scholarship is offered to students entering or currently pursuing, an educational program related to nursing or medicine. Applicants will create an innovative and impactful healthcare project that includes a leadership development plan geared to promote project success as well as academic and personal growth. Recipients are selected based on expressed and demonstrated commitment to leadership, academic achievement, community involvement and long-term career interest in healthcare. The recipients are selected based on the criteria set forth in the requirements section of this document.The Healthcare Leaders Scholarship Winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship and may receive additional prizes.

Healthcare Leaders Scholarship Application Requirement/ Eligibility 2023-2024

• Applicant must be a US citizen
• Applicant must be a resident of North Dakota
• Applicant must be Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at a North Dakota university or college
• Applicants must have completed at least their junior year of undergraduate coursework or be enrolled in a graduate program
• The applicant must be Pursuing a degree in healthcare or business administration with a goal of working in a healthcare-related industry with a strong leadership track
• Applicant must be at least 17 years of age
• Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Applicant must be in good academic standing, maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher
• Applicant must Demonstrate financial need.

Healthcare Leaders Scholarship Application Procedure 2023/2024

• Complete and submit the online application via www.nurse.org/healthcare-leaders
• Submit a copy of the most recent unofficial transcript
• Submit an academic or professional letter of recommendation
  
• Submit an answer in an essay form to the questions: Why are you motivated to study nursing or health?,  What do you think is the biggest challenge facing nursing and health students today? .
• Attach a one to two-page summary of the proposed healthcare leadership project plan
• Attach a personal report on achievements that show your commitment to nursing or healthcare.
