The Health Resources and Services Administration’s Native Hawaiian Health Scholarship Program 2023-2024 offers assistance for HRSA’s Native Hawaiian Health Scholarship Program (NHHSP) under the Native Hawaiian Health Care Improvement Act of 1992 (NHHCIA), as amended (42 USC 11709). The program gives scholarships to Native Hawaiians pursuing careers in primary and behavioural health disciplines. Recipients provide culturally competent primary health care to Native Hawaiians and underserved individuals living in poor and remote areas of Hawaii. The Health Resources and Services Administration’s Native Hawaiian Health Scholarship provides funds to Native Hawaiian students of health professions schools. The scholarship program achieves its purpose through the use of the creation and extension of Native Hawaiian healthcare delivery infrastructures through comprehensive health promotion, illness prevention, and health services. Funds were granted to eligible senior students at 140 public high schools in Kaiser Permanente’s Northwest Service Area, which stretches north from Longview, Washington to Eugene, Oregon. The Health Resources and Services Administration’s Native Hawaiian Health Scholarship Program awards purpose is to Pay recipients’ tuition, Provide recipients with a monthly stipend, and Cover related school costs.

  • Applicant must study either;
  • Clinical Psychologist,
  • Dentist,
  • Dental Hygienist,
  • Dietitian/Nutritionist,
  • Nurse,
  • Nurse-Midwife,
  • Nurse Practitioner,
  • Physician,
  • Physician Assistant,
  • or Social Worker,
  • Applicant must Prove Hawaiian ancestry
  • Applicant must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university
  • Applicant must be in a state of financial need.
  • Application Submission Deadline: March 15, 2022.
