Canvas is a web-based learning management system (LMS). Canvas LSM is a software used by educational institutions to handle online learning, create and present online study materials and assess student learning as well as allow students to engage in courses and receive feedback about skill development and learning achievement. FIU precisely chose Canvas LMS as their new LMS as the best way to offer faculty the resources they need to improve the student learning experience because Canvas aligns with the State University System’s (SUS) 2025 Strategic Plan for Online Education. To ensure easy access and use of FIU Canvas, the Florida International University Educational Technology Services staff provides support and training for Canvas. With FUI Canvas, students can access content created by librarians in their FIU Canvas account.

Your FIU Canvas hosts the exact courses you take at the university and grants you access to course materials and tools to communicate and cooperate with classmates, instructors and/or TAs.

 

FIU Canvas Login Access and Guide 2023

Access to FIU Canvas has been made easier for you. To access FIU Canvas, all you need is your FIU Canvas Logins. Your FIU Canvas account can be accessed through a web browser or through the Canvas mobile app. To have access to your FIU Canvas account you must first log in to your FIU Canvas account.

 

How to Login to FUI Canvas

Both students, as well as teachers, can log in to their FIU Canvas account through the FUL Canvas website or through the Canvas mobile App.

 

Logging in Using FIU Canvas Website

1. Visit the FUI Canvas website http://canvas.fiu.edu. on your web browser.
2. This will bring you to the FIU Canvas login page or Blackboard. Click on “Login” below the Canvas image.
3. Enter your FIU credentials( your FIU Username and password). Your login credentials for Canvas are the same as those used for the registration system. Click on Forgot Username or Forgot password to reset or retrieve your username or password respectively.
4. Click on “Log in” and this will bring you to the FUI Canvas dashboard. Now you can access your FUI Canvas.

 

Logging in with Canvas Mobile App

Students, instructors, and parents can log in with the Canvas student app, Canvas instructor app, and Canvas parent app respectively. The Canvas mobile apps are available in Google Play Store for Android devices and in App Store for IOS users. With the Canvas app, you can log in with your school URL or QR code. Every institution uses a specific URL to access Canvas. Download your Canvas mobile app now to access your account.

 

 

Logging in with URL

1. Open the Canvas app you download and enter FIU Canvas URL OR you can search for the school name with the search bar.
2. Click on the login button and enter your FIU credentials.
3. Click on “LOGIN”.

 

Logging in with QR Code

To log in with the QR code, click on the FIU Canvas link and then the QR code. For the QR code, an FIU staff must enable the QR code feature before you can use it. QR code can be scanned from the login page of the FIU Canvas. To view the QR code:

1. Login to your USCD Canvas URL with your FIU credentials.
2. Click on “QR code for “Mobile” in the account.
3. Click on the proceed button and your code will display.

 

The QR code is the same as your password and should be kept confidential.
