Note that;

Report 191 – Engineering studies can take place in April for 1 trimester, May for trimester 2, August and September for the third trimester
The Engineering Studies study period starts in January to March for 1st trimester May to July for 2nd trimester and September to November for 3rd trimester
Business Studies & Utility Studies duration is three semesters; 1st semester starts from January to June And 2nd semester begins from July until November.

Documents Require For EEC Online Application 2025-2026

Applicants are required to upload these documents into the application form in a digital format such as PDF. All documents uploaded will become the property of the EEC. If documents are not in English as a medium of communication, applicants must attach a certified translation in English. These are the documents required;

Identity document or passport for foreign students with study permit
Academic records
Grade 9 certificate or
Adult Education and Training (AET) Level 4 which is equivalent to the National Qualification Framework (NQF) Level 1 certificate; or
N1 and a N2 certificate for N3 or N3 for N4 for entry into Report 191 engineering studies or
Grade 12/NCV Level 4 for entry into N4 Report 191 Business/Utility studies;
Previous student academic record/ statement of results for returning students;
Foreign students: South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) approved foreign qualification and Proof of medical insurance or cover. Study permit that stipulates the duration of the study; and
Pre-Vocational Learning Programme (PLP) results
Selection and Placement test results
Completed registration form
Contact details of next of kin or responsible persons
Parents or guardian’s or next of kin ID document
Proof of payment for the academic year (if self-paying student or sponsored)
Proof of provisional funding status from NSFAS (if funded by NSFAS)
Provisional funding from repeating students and non-NSFAS applicants and
Attach criminal record (if applicable)
