The Learning Management System (LMS) for the City University of New York (CUNY) is the Blackboard, CUNY eLearning Portal. Blackboard Learn is the City University of New York’s enterprise Learning Management System (LMS), centrally supported and managed by the Office of Computing and Information Service (CSI), Staff and instructional leaders on the campuses of CUNY. CUNY Blackboard is a web-based course management program that enables students and faculty to participate in online classes and employ online course materials to complement face-to-face learning. Instructors can share course materials, quizzes, and discussion boards or utilise a combination of Blackboard and face-to-face interaction to teach students. The Blackboard or CUNY eLearning Portal is fully set to provide product experiences that conform to the highest levels of global accessibility standards. CUNY Blackboard is a resource for online learning available to the entire CUNY community.
If you are a student of the City University of New York (CUNY), a Blackboard account has been reserved for you to enable you to access your courses on the CUNY eLearning Portal. The CUNY eLearning Portal (Blackboard) can be accessed on a desktop or laptop through your web browser or can be accessed on your mobile device through the Blackboard App. To access the CUNY Blackboard, you must first login to your CUNY eLearning Portal page. Logging in to CUNY Blackboard requires your CUNY Login credentials. If you have not claimed your CUNYfirst account, you must do so on https://home.cunyfirst.cuny.edu/ before accessing the CUNY eLearning Portal.

Blackboard offers two mobile applications and which application one uses depends on whether you are accessing a course as a student or as an instructor. The free Blackboard app allows you to access your Blackboard course wherever you are. With your Blackboard app, you can access grades, and course content, view announcements and post on discussion boards from your smartphone or tablet. To log in with the app, verify if the City University of New York (CUNY) has allowed mobile device access. Students can download the Blackboard app for iOS 7+, Android 4.0+ and Windows 8.1+.
