CMU SIO: How to Access CMU Online Portal 2023

You will regularly visit and use CMU SIO, or Student Information Online, a secure online resource provided by Carnegie Mellon University, throughout your academic career. You may order CMU transcripts and verifications, arrange course schedules, execute course registration tasks (add/drop courses, examine waitlist history, etc.), and view grades, QPA, and enrollment status inside SIO. Log Into CMU SIO
  • Visit the website at cmu.edu/hub/sio.
  • The SIO link will appear on your right side (Desktop users).
  • You are then sent to the login page.
  • Type your Andrew userID (AndrewID).
  • Enter your password.
  • The Login button can be clicked to access your portal.
  • Until you log out or your session expires, you can now access the university’s restricted services without having to re-enter your Andrew userID and password.
About Your Andrew Account
  • Your Andrew account serves as your entry point into the Carnegie Mellon computer ecosystem.
  • All new students, professors, and staff are given Andrew accounts as part of the onboarding process to provide access to email, network registration, public computer labs, and other tools.
  • Visitors may also request temporary accounts be created on their behalf by an active sponsor. Your Andrew userID and password are the credentials for your Andrew account.
Changing Your Andrew Password

Visit the Password Change page.
Click Login after providing your Andrew user ID and password.
To establish a password that complies with the password requirements, follow the onscreen instructions. Do not reuse the passwords you’ve chosen for other accounts.
Use your new Andrew password to log in after the procedure is finished.

Registering For Classes Via CMU SIO
  • Make a timetable for your courses.
  • Go to Plan Course Schedule under the Course Schedule tab.
  • Select the semester and give your plan a name by clicking Plan New Schedule.
  • Enter the course number into the box or browse for courses to add before clicking Add.
  • Click the colored course boxes on the right to alter the segment in your plan by choosing a different one.
  • Clicking the information button will allow you to view additional details about the course.
  • Together with your adviser, go through your intended itinerary. On your Contacts page in CMU SIO, you may find your advisor’s contact information.
  • Check the CMU SIO for your registration start time.
  • On the Registration page, choose the Course Schedule option to find your registration time.
  • Enroll in classes.
  • On your SIO homepage, click the Registration button or choose Registration from the Course Schedule menu.
  • Use the gear wheels to register, drop, switch, and manage your waitlist when it’s time to register for the semester.
