The National Accredited Technical Education Diploma (NATED) programmes at Buffalo City College offer a wide range of courses in order to meet the needs of their varied student body. There is a course for every interest and passion, including engineering, business studies, hospitality, and the creative arts.
The Department of Higher Education and Training is responsible for overseeing the delivery of NATED programmes. The programmes last 18 months and include both theoretical college study and 18 months of useful on-the-job training. The range of engineering courses is N1–N6, whereas the range of business and utility courses is N4–N6.

The NATED course is designed in such a way that students can successfully complete the corresponding N4, N5, and N6 courses in a particular vocational or occupational area and obtain the certification in a year or 18 months. A minimum of 18 months of knowledge application in the industry must come after the theoretical portion of the course for the student to achieve the National N Diploma, Level 6.

How To Apply For Buffalo City College Nated Courses 2024
Nated Diploma Programme applications are submitted a year before the anticipated year of study for Semester 1. After the semester break, applications for semester 2 are accepted starting in April/May, and classes start in July.
Entry Requirements For Nated Courses 2024
Students who want to pursue one of the Nated Diploma Programmes must have a Grade 12 Certificate or be enrolled in Grade 12 at the time of application.
The business school’s entry requirements are as follows:
- To be eligible for admission to any of the Business Studies programmes, a student must have a minimum of 23 total points (points must be earned in subjects other than Life Orientation).
The engineering school’s entry requirements are:
- A student must receive a grade of at least 40% in both mathematics and physical sciences. Please be aware that regardless of their passing grade, students who lack mathematical literacy will not be given consideration for engineering.
