Bethesda Lutheran Communities Lutheran Student Scholastic & Service Scholarship 2023-2024

Bethesda Lutheran Communities Lutheran Student Scholastic & Service Scholarship 2023-2024 seeks to Lead the advancement of our field for the benefit of those we serve. The Bethesda Lutheran Communities, Through scholarship grants to high school, college, and under seminary students, the Lutheran Student Scholastic & Service Scholarship provides the community with a support structure. The organization’s purpose is to build the community through assisting one another and only relying on our basic principles of Open Arms, Innovation for Good, and Support for the Whole Person to enable the individuals we serve to succeed. Bethesda Lutheran Communities Lutheran Student Scholastic & Service Scholarship serves and assists people with disabilities in society. Bethesda Lutheran Scholarship awards Five $3,000 scholarships each year to students pursuing undergraduate degrees in any academic area that will prepare them to serve and support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Bethesda Lutheran Communities Lutheran Student Scholastic & Service Scholarship Application Requirement 2023-2024;

• A Completed application form
• A document stating hours of service to people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities whether volunteering or paid.
• A 250-300-word essay describing how the chosen academic program would help applicants further their profession in the field of intellectual and/or developmental disability.
• Four recommendation letters
• All official transcripts
• Pictures of the applicant volunteering and interacting with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities are required.
• Applicant must be an active, communicant member of a Lutheran congregation.
• Applicant must either be a freshman, sophomore or junior at an accredited 4-year college or university.
• Applicant must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Applicant must have a career objective in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Bethesda Lutheran Communities Lutheran Student Scholastic & Service Scholarship Application Procedure 2023/24

• Complete and submit the application form.
• Submit A record of volunteer or paid hours of assistance to persons with intellectual and/or developmental impairments.
• Applicant must submit A 250-300 word essay detailing how the selected academic program would assist the candidate to further their career in the field of intellectual and/or developmental impairment.
• Four letters of recommendation from leader or faculty.
• An official college or university transcript(s).
