High-achieving high school graduates and students returning from a gap year who are starting a suitable undergraduate study at QUT are given QUT Excellence scholarships. High performers are rewarded with this merit-based award, which enables them to continue succeeding in college by being admitted to the College of Excellence. To be eligible for the QUT Excellence Scholarship (Academic), applicants must meet all the
following requirements,
must be graduating Year 12 (or International Baccalaureate) OR have had no more than one gap year since graduating high school (or International Baccalaureate).
must achieve an unadjusted ATAR of 98 or above (an ATAR of 95 and above may be considered for certain courses). ATAR adjustment schemes are not applied in the assessment of these scholarships.
must be starting a university undergraduate course for the first time.
must nominate a QUT undergraduate course as their first preference in the QTAC application process.
must fall into one of the categories below,
an Australian or New Zealand citizen OR a permanent resident OR hold a permanent humanitarian visa.
an international student who has completed high school in Australia OR completed Australian curriculum (or International Baccalaureate) offshore.
Value And Payment Of Scholarships
Based on regular, full-time equivalent enrollment across the first six semesters of the chosen undergraduate degree, the QUT Excellence Scholarship (Academic), valued at $30,000, is paid at $10,000 per year ($5,000 per semester).
Based on regular, full-time equivalent enrollment across the first four semesters of the chosen undergraduate degree, the QUT Excellence Scholarship (Academic), valued at $10,000, is paid at $5,000 per year ($2, 500 each semester).
Students who are enrolled part-time will be given 50% of the normal semester payment.
The conditions of the scholarship must be followed in order for payments to continue; otherwise, they will be discontinued.
After the census date of each semester, students will receive their scholarship funds through electronic transfer to the designated bank account.
Scholarship recipients must keep track of payments and alert the Student Excellence Coordinator if there are any over-payments or underpayments, even though every effort is made to ensure direct scholarship payments are accurate.
Students may be asked to repay money to the institution if there are payment inconsistencies.
Application Process
For the QUT Excellence Scholarship, you are not required to submit a scholarship application (Academic).
All qualified applicants who submit a QTAC application by the deadline and indicate that a QUT course is their top choice will be taken into consideration.
It’s possible that other QUT scholarships will need you to submit a different application.
