ANU Wattle: Helpful Guide to ANU programs and Courses 2023

The Australian National University’s Learning System Management is the Web Access To Teaching & Learning Environments (WATTLE). The Australian National University’s Web Access To Teaching & Learning Environments ( ANU WATTLE) consists of Moodle as the main underpinning platform, that is, WATTLE is a Moodle based platform. ANU WATTLE is used to promote learning and deliver resources to students online. With the ANU WATTLE, instructors can use the Wattle sites to facilitate online learning and provide resources to their students including:

• access to lecture notes and online resources
• access to lecture recordings via Echo360
• communication tools such as discussion forums, messaging, web conferencing and chat sessions
• information about assessments, including Turnitin and online quizzes.

ANU courses have individual Wattle sites; access to each Wattle site is only available to those students enrolled in the course and associated teaching staff. Course Wattle sites are live two weeks before the course starts and for six months after the course ends. Each site will host important information including the course outline, course materials, assessments and lecture information.

Provide here is a helpful guide on how to log into ANU Wattle and access Wattle Courses. Wattle is accessed via Single Sign-on (SSO). The ANU can be accessed on a desktop or mobile device with a compatible web browser. The following browsers are recommended for desktop users; Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Internet Explorer and Safari. For mobile devices is advisable you use Safari or Google Chrome. To have access to your Wattle course site, you must first log into your ANU Wattle portal.

How to Login to ANU Wattle

1. On your web browser, navigate or visit the ANU Wattle Login page at https://wattlecourses.anu.edu.au/my/.
2. On the ANU Wattle Login page, click on the “Log in” button on the top right of the Login Page.
3. The ANU Identity SSO page will appear.
4. Click on the “Username and Password”.
5. Enter your student username. Your Username for signing in is your Australian National University ID.
6. Enter your Password.
7. Click on “Submit” to open your ANU Wattle dashboard.

Once you have logged into your ANU Wattle account you can access your Wattle course site. On your ANU Wattle dashboard, type your course code (semester and year) into the search box then select your course or locate it in the tiles above or below the search box. Make sure you have the correct semester and year.

Now you can add your ANU Wattle dashboard link to your Bookmarks Toolbar so you do not have to search for the site every time. Below are the steps to follow to add ANU Wattle to you Bookmarks Toolbar. if your bookmarks toolbar is not showing then:

For a desktop PC

• With Chrome; hold down Ctrl+Shift+B and release
• With Firefox; right-click next to the address bar and select the Bookmarks toolbar.

For a MAC

• Whether with Chrome or Firefox; hold down Command+Shift+B and release.

How to Add ANU Wattle Dashboard to Bookmarks Toolbar

1. Click and hold the lock next to the address bar and drag and drop it onto your Bookmarks toolbar.
2. You will now be able to access the Dashboard with one click. You may want to repeat the process for other websites that you use frequently.
